View Full Version : Southern Oaks north of the Turnpike

Here is link to a flyover of the section of Southern Oaks that is north of the Turnpike from 468 to the Bailey Rd bridge. A huge area, a lot of growth is going to occur in this area!

You can see the markings from the drilling they do at set intervals prior to construction. I've yet to figure out exactly what they are for but consistently they have done this in all the areas before they start construction. If you look at Google for Southern Oaks phases 1, 2, & 3 you can see the markings almost all equally spaced.

I wonder if these are core sample digs? Testing the stability of the sand and checking for sink holes and aquifers...

Most likely the holes are percolation test holes. They are required for most construction. A percolation test (colloquially called a perc test) is a test to determine the water absorption rate of soil.
