I received a 10% off my first order postcard a couple of days ago. Today I got a email $5 off until 1/14 and can be combined with Vet discount. Tomorrow 1/11 soft opening, 1/18 is Grand Opening. Veterans should sign up for their online Vet discount like I did, and you'll then be in their system for this offers.

What is a "soft" opening?

A soft opening comes before the Grand Opening. It's an unnounced opening to let the store employees get use to their position and maybe fix any unforseen problems. Most restaurants will have a soft opening. Maybe Lowes hired a lot of employees without retail experience but a good work history. They probably felt it was a good thing to do.

We were there today. It’s a very nice store and the employees seem happy to be there and were very helpful. A very nice addition!

Clean and bright. Also, much closer. Nice to have it open.

Well, I visited the Lowes yesterday during the soft opening. I was impressed how nice it was and it sure is a very welcome addition to this area. It's only a five minute drive for me as I live in Pinellas and I get a veterans discount. All the employee's were very helpful.

I was in Home Depot yesterday and today in the new Lowes, the amount of light in the Lowes is night and day compared to HD. However, I wanted to buy this simulated oak barrel for $14.95 and the garden shop worker said not everything has come yet. They got enough stuff for a soft opening but some things won't be in until grand opening on the 18th. I just checked Lady Lake store online and they 28 in stock.

Wow, it's a really nice store. A lot of it is floor planned out like all Lowe's stores but there is a definite difference to it.
On the downside, I hate to think to what it might do to the business at Wildwood Ace Hdwe.

Who is resonsible for the greed at Lowe’s ?
Wildwood hardware will probably be glad not to have rude Village people coming in anymore. :loco::loco::loco:

The ACE hardware stores are noted for having Village specific hardware in stock. While I like both Lowes and Home Depot, I recently had to replace a broken round floor electrical receptacle cover. The one I bought at Home Depot did not fit the plastic fixture in the floor. The Ace Hardware on Wedgewood had the correct cover in stock.
My point, I will be a customer at both Lowes and ACE for different items. Actually, I am hoping the ACE hardwares stay open for this reason.
