Made the trip and drove by a new home for sale yesterday in Fenny, a Wisteria with a 3 car garage priced at $245 on a corner lot. ""Awesome home and lot"".... Looked like this would be a great new home and it was......

Except.... the home directly across the street decided to glam up their house with every religious statue they could find about 10 or so that we could see anyway and then put 10-20 stickers on all front windows of their house.

I dislike tattletales, I myself could never report them , like my mom used to say.....everyone has there own style, and I use the word 'style' loosely, but seems a shame, we thought the home across the street would be a great one. I mean imagine having to report your new neighbors..... sad thing to have to do, and suggesting they remove them to their face, even worse.

Hopefully some villages sales agent will do something...

anyway, moving on to the next fantastic home....

Someone will. Reporting these breeches of deed restrictions is anonymous. Call and tell them and someone will be sent out to explain that they are not in compliance. MAYBE they don't know.

Perhaps Fenney has no restrictions for yard art or window signs. You can see some crazy groupings north of 466.

I would be surprised if that was true, but glad the point has been raised because potential buyers should ask.

If true, that would definitely be a no go for me.

Maybe the neighbors are doing it to annoy the neighbor across the street who is trying to sell his home.

Maybe if everyone put statues up then that house would not look out of place.

There is a lag in brand new neighborhoods before the deed restrictions can be reported and dealt with. I don't know how I know this but I remember someone from deed compliance writing this somewhere.

Someday soon those statues will be gone. Don't lift an eyebrow at me. I am a Catholic. I just don't like statues in people's front yards.

During our neighborhood construction Community watch reported violations but only until all homes were built.

Maybe the neighbors are doing it to annoy the neighbor across the street who is trying to sell his home.

And it could be that the people at the offending home is the reason the neighbors are trying to sell their home.

I want to live in a community with restrictions. The OP described what this community would like like if there were no restrictions. I doubt the Morse family would allow the new section of The Villages to look like a schlocky mess.

Just to clarify things......Fenny is a brand new villages neighborhood, there is 1 resale in the entire development... and about maybe 300 newly built homes forsale.

Just saying....

And to restate;

New villages wait awhile until they are "established" by some criteria before they begin fining people for reported deed restrictions.

Would you like to expand on your statement above because you are painting the area north of 466 with a very broad brush! The only village that I know can have "yard art" is Polo Ridge and I have never noticed problems when I drive through there.
