The below video is of fellow Villager Garrett from The Village of LaBelle paragliding over part of the Southern Oaks area under construction (Phase 2).

Was awesome to watch in person, the video truly doesn't do it justice.

Hope you enjoy it.

About 2013 I was at the Tamarind Grove pool one afternoon and looking up I saw a person flying a paraglider overhead about a 1000' up like the one pictured below. As I watched more come into sight and at one point I counted 31 paragliders in the sky at one time, none of them probably lower than 500'. I believe in the paper the next day they mentioned they were a club in route to Ocala but a couple of local residents landed in TV. These were not powered aircraft, I always wondered how they could launch so many at once since an airplane seemed out of the question with so many.

Garrett was using a power paraglider during this flight, a small 2-stroke engine and propeller strapped to his back. He made it look easy and fun but I'm sure that there's a lot more to it than meets the eye.

It sure looks like a lot of fun but I'd hate to think of what can happen if something goes wrong.

Very cooooool! What time of the day was this. We were on the FL Tpk on the way back from Orlando yesterday afternoon around 4-430 and watched a glider circling around not to long before we got off the exit. He seemed to be MUCH higher (distance [emoji3]) than this video though.

Now I know what happened to my big garage fan!

The video was shot on New Years Eve at about 4:00 PM. Just getting around to doing the editing this morning due to some overheating issues on the computer that I finally cleared up.

Interesting, but would love to see more drone video of how the southern villages are progressing. Much of the work can't be seen from the road.

It does look like a fun thing to do...for someone else, LOL. The background music seemed to "fit" too - can you tell us what it is?

The sound track is Schubert's "Minuet in D Minor"
