For several reasons. mainly health related, I have not been on this board for some time. I logged on to add my two cents worth to what I thought would be an ongoing discussion about the events in Fort Hood. To my surprise no-one has commented on this. This was as much Islamic Terrorism as the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

If we do not accept that radical Islam intends to destroy the United States, then we will be like the Jews who walked willingly onto the Nazi trains and into the death camps. Obviously, the jews were not guilty, but their refusal to fight caused the slaughter to be much greater. Had they fought, the end of the Third Reich would have been greatly accelerated.

It is time for honesty - radical Islam is at war with us, even as we refuse to acknowledge that openly. It is time to openly identify the enemy as the 'praying imams' in Minneapolis, not our mothers and fathers going about their normal travels. If we do not wake up, we will suffer the same fate as the German Jews sis in WWII. We must declare war on the enemy, just as the enemy has openly declared war on us.

I view things a little differently. To me, radical Islam is a cancer. When you attack cancer head-on, you may get the tumor (sleeper cell) but the disease all too often pops back up.

I think they need to be starved of recruits. In the same way that new cancer treatments are working at starving cancer cells by depriving them of a food supply, we should be looking at how someone goes from "normal" to sociopath.

That way, in addition to fighting them head-on for the immediate victory, we can also work towards there being no resources for this cancer later.

And just for the record, there was a lot of resistance fighting against the Nazis. It's just hard when you're a poor east European Jew to argue with the SS officer who has a gun pointed at you telling you to get on the train.

Abas Hussein Abdirahman, 33, was killed in front of a crowd of some 300 people in the port town of Merka.

An official from the al-Shabab group said the woman would be killed after she has had her baby.

The moderate Islamic President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed (they don't control the south) pointed out that the radicals force the women to wear heavy clothes that they (the radicals) sell. The President was also saying how these people were spoiling the reputation of Islam by killing and harassing women.

I understand where you are coming from. but believe if we are to rid ourselves of a cancer we must eliminate the tumor. Nadik Hasan was described by his cousin as "a good American who was being discriminated against". Calling a mass murderer a good American makes no sense to me but it appears to make sense to Muslim radicals (at least I hope they are radical and not Islamic mainstream)

The terrorists are here. We need to root them out unless we are willing to put up the murder of those who dare disagree. The recent murder of a Muslim girl by her father for, "being too America" demonstrates this as clearly as the actions of Nadik Hasan.

Don't get me wrong - we have to get rid of the tumor AND starve the disease. Re-reading my original post I see I didn't make that clear.
