Boomer's
in town!!!
and I met her!! :pepper2::pepper2:
Last night, I was at Gator's and acting like a fool (as usual), and Pat (PGB) brings over to my group, a beautiful woman who introduces herself as BOOMER!!! As we expected, she is a beautiful woman with an incredible smile and even more incredible personality. She was with the adorable Mr. Boomer, who is a handsome devil, of course. Now, let me add, writing this post is very difficult because I AM NOT AN ENGLISH MAJOR so I must be careful to use perfect grammar and sentence structure (whatever that is...)

What a treat that was!! Highlight of my evening.

Kathie, this is THE most surprising post I've read in a long time. Give Mr. and Mrs. Boomer a big hello from me. How long are they going to be in town? Did you take any pictures as proof that the Boomers are actually on campus?

Pictures of Mr. and Mrs. Boomer??? No Way, I was told under penalty of death, NO PICTURES...... and Boomer trusted me not to take any. But, she is adorable and he is so handsome. You guys really missed a lot. I think they are leaving town very shortly, but I got her to promise that she will be back soon and won't sneak into town like she did this time. We'll see.... you know Boomer... she keeps ya guessing.

I met Boomer today. :clap2: It was great to meet her, she is very personable.

She stopped by the dog park and saw my vehicle with Canadian plates. Quite the little detective.

She is travelling "incognito" and won't be around much longer. Sort of like a shooting star.

Oh Me too. I will be so sad if she leaves town and I don't get to give her a hug. She liked Muncle too, I know she will be sad about hearing of his passing.

Please Boomer. You are so welcome to come by our house.

I plan for us to go to Havana on Monday night. I was gonna go on Friday and Saturday but had a headache.. a peach of one.

Looks like there is a long line of people that want to meet the elusive Boomer, myself included! Can't we schedule a meet and greet before she leaves?

Hi Everybody,

I am still here and I really do hope to meet more of you.

On a little whim last night, after having dinner at Red Sauce, we were walking around, and I said to Mr. B. that Kathie from TOTV likes karaoke and I wonder if she is in this place. And sure enough, there she was, and also Dick and JerseyGirl, and PGB. who took me to find Kathie. And the courageous JeanneBeannie who just made up her mind and moved to TV really fast and who is having a wonderful time with all the rest.

And I know you all think I am a little weird about the no pictures thing, but that's just me (I have a list of reasons.) and Kathie was wonderful and respected my wishes. And did not take my picture. Bless her. And what a warm welcome! And I loved the surprise on her face.

And today, we were driving around the area and I saw the sign for Doggie-Do-Run-Run and I leapt from my car there, and now I feel like Jessica Fletcher Boomer because I tracked down Barefoot bc of those Canada plates. But I did not see Fumar anywhere near the place and I was surprised about that. And I stepped in a little something on the way back to the car. But it was OK. I cleaned it off with a stick and a little skating around in the grass. (My dog Annie decided to stay home with a dogsitter. She said she preferred that to being on the road at age 15 and a half. Set in her ways, you know.)

We have driven every street in this place I think. It sure is big. Bigger even than last time. We have been chasing our own tails for the last few days here, but we have a little more time.

For goodness sake. Does anybody know if Boomer is an English major?

I strongly suspect she is. And uujudy is pretty sly about hiding whether she is one, too.

And no pictures. Geez, Kathie. Or was Mr. Boomer running security for her? I can picture him with a trench coat and a thing in his ear, and he would talk into his hand every once in a while. And wear sunglasses.

Curiouser and curiouser.

I feel in my heart that Boomer is an English Major in the Witness Protection Program that saw a ........................................ (fill in the blank) use the library and had to be spirited away with a new identity after testifying to same.

Not to worry Boom. We won't turn you in or bring you out or snap your picture. We just want to look at you adoringly.

Ohhhh, GG,

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for promising to not take my picture or to turn me in. I am truly hinky about internet privacy. I have reasons. But, doggone it, GG, how did you know?????

OK,

Here's what's up.....,

I have some more clues as to where I can find TOTVers.

GG has indicated something in a post somewhere about Havana tonight I think she said. Mr. B and I are going to go to that show at Katie Belles, the early one, but if it is a later in the night bunch at Havana -- but not too late.....well, I guess I could always take a nap......I would love to stop by Havana and say hi. I had a great rum drink there one day.

I also have picked up a clue about another location where I might be able to find some of you.

And, tomorrow, at high noon, I am going to be at Mallory for lunch.

I have been here long enough to know that this may be the busiest place in the entire universe and I bet you are all still clutching those DayTimer things everybody used to have when they worked. I love it! So anyway, if you can just say hi, that would be great. And I am open to more clues.

Thank you to all of those I have met since I have been here in TV. Two of my favorite things are laughter and sunshine. The sunshine was already here and then you provided those big welcoming smiles and we laughed together like we had known each other for a long time. And, in a way, I guess we have.

And thank you Kathie and the Karaoke Krew and to Barefoot for putting the word out that I had ambushed you. After that happened, some people contacted me and I have met every one of them.

Some things take some catching on to around here. I went to Havana at about 9:30 a couple of nights ago, thinking entertainment there started at 9:00……Wellllll…… Thank goodness I got to see three of you, who were just getting ready to leave, too. I am so glad I caught you and thanks for explaining these schedules to me. I should have known.……………

I really should have known. The last time we were here, we happened upon some great live entertainment in a club. That was in 2007 and I cannot remember the name. I think maybe Santiago. So Mr. B and I got our drinks and then went out to the porch where the music was playing and everybody was having fun and the guy was singing, “Little Darlin’" and I know all the words to that one. (And I can’t dance, but I can cha-cha in my chair with the best of ‘em.)

So anyway, we sat down and sang along for a couple of tunes and suddenly everybody got up and left. And I thought, “Ohhhh, noooo, I know I am an awful singer, but I was not singing thaaat loud. But then a nice lady explained the 9:00 thing to me and I don’t know why I did not remember that from 2007 and got it into my head that Havana started at 9:00.

And Tal, if you are reading this, I tried to find you the day I stopped by the dogpark and tracked down Barefoot, but you were already gone. Hi Tal.

And, again, thank you all for the invitations to meet. I am so glad we did. I wish I could be here for Crispers but we will be gone by then. And a special thank you for helping 21st Century Boomer drag her 20th Century alter-ego into Now. This online world still confuses me. But those of you I have met are all real to me now. And quite wonderful I do think. You are a sort of Sunshine Committee in so many ways.

Hi Boomer, I'm sorry I missed you at Havana on Monday night, but after closing karaoke haunts at 2am in the morning for 3 nights in a row (thanks to Jeanne Beannie), I was beat so I left early. But was at Havana last night and then proceeded to Big City Grill in SS for karaoke until 1:30am with Jeanne again (I told you she's a very bad influence).

Tonight is Gator's again and it starts at 9pm, I'll try to save you a seat...Hope to see you again one more time at least before you leave!!!

Tony, I have the answer to what Boomer's major was, but I'm sworn to secrecy... No picts and no giving away the secrets... :sigh:

Boomer

Kathie is so good at secrets. I have no idea why Tony thinks I am an English major.

Oh, btw, I found yet another reason to move to TV and that reason has to do with the signs in Publix. The express lane signs in Publix say “10 Items or Fewer” and when I saw them, I thought. YES!!! Finally! The grocery store signs I have been dreaming of for years.

You see, (and Gracie will know this, too) the signs at Kroger in Cincinnati all say “10 Items or LESS” -- aaaaaaaughhhhhhh!!!! -- Well, actually, it might be 15 items in Cincinnati, but that’s not the point. The point is that if you can count the stuff, it needs to say “fewer.” And Publix has it right. I was so happy.

But just when I thought I had found the perfect place to live because of those beautiful, correctly worded, grocery store express lane signs, I suddenly noticed, one night while checking out at a Publix (having been on a quest for some butter pecan ice cream) that on a little stand, sitting on the checkout lane, underneath that exquisite “fewer” sign, there it was -- a small sign that looked like it had just been printed on paper, and stuck in that little frame, on that little stand, right there on the counter. And that evil sign said, “10 Items or Less.” :22yikes:

I must explain that even though those words actually printed on the sign said, “10 Items or Less,” that sign really had Tony written all over it. Ohhhhhh, I know a dastardly deed when I see one. Tony, that dastard, running around TV, putting those signs in my path. A dastardly, dastardly deed, indeed.

I just know that Tony put that freshly printed sign there. Just to try to drive English majors crazy. To try to run English majors out of town. I just know he had something to do with it. Why did that new sign suddenly appear???? It wasn’t there when I first hit town.

I know that Tony has a deep-seated fear of English majors, and I know all about that notion he has in his head that I am one. Ohhhh, I know stuff. I can pick up on things.

Like garlic to a vampire. Like a silver bullet to a werewolf. That’s what a sign with bad grammar is to an English major. Tony thinks he is so clever, sticking those signs in my Publix path. But HAH! I’m still here. So how could I possibly be an English major?

That "fewer than/less than" Boomer-dance is a dead giveaway.

Kathie? Do you agree?

And Boomer always says she can't dance. Did you see that little dance she just did?

Well, I just rolled back into town. Cincinnati that is. And 'rolled' is the operative word. I have at least 5 pounds on me that have never seen Cincinnati before. And I sure did not need them. Too many good places to eat in TV. Not to mention those Happy Hours. Oh My! But red wine is good for me right?

It was wonderful to meet so many of you. I wish we could have stayed for the Crispers lunch, but had to get back home before then. Maybe next time.

You were all lovely and wonderful and did not take my picture. It was so much fun. Thank you for the hospitality. And I plan to be back.
