What happened to beef jerky? It used to be hard and tough. Now, the only kind I can find to buy is soft and chewy. Does anyone know where I can buy the hard stuff. I don't like it soft. Thanks.

I'll try it, but I wanted to buy it locally. In the past 50 years, they've screwed up beef jerky, tomatoes, soft pretzels, watermelon, music, and movies. What's next?

While it is some work, my step son makes his own with a dehydrator, and a family recipe, come out great. If you really like jerky, you might try this route. Takes a couple of days as I recall, but he does a couple of pounds at a time. We keep it in the refrigerator once it is done.

If your in Orlando at the Florida Mall there is a huge jerky joint with about 300 varieties. They are sure to have what you are looking for. It's called Beef Jerky Experience. Free tasting as well. Try the ostrich or alligator jerky. Interesting. [emoji3]

I like to buy jerky from the farmers markets, namely Market of Marion and Webster Flea Market.
