In which town did you start? Where were you born?

I was born at the Ohio Valley Hospital on June 15, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio.
We lived across the river in Weirton, West Virginia, but there was no hospital there at that time.

Williamsport, Pennsylvania in January of 1947. My Dad was at Williamsport Tech on the GI Bill. We had previously been in Germany - Dad as a GI and me as a gleam in his eye. Holy crap, I could have been German!

St. Luke's Hospital, St. Louis, March 1936. My late wife, all of her siblings, both my brothers and my two daughters were also born there. The building still operates as a medical facility, but only as a neighborhood clinic. There's a "new" St. Luke's "way out in the county" - been there better than 30 years, I guess.

Navy Hospital, Banana River Naval Air Base, Cocoa, FL, better known now, I believe as Patrick Air Force Base. January, 1946. Moved to Washington, D.C. area and moved with my husband to Florida in 1986, presently outside Tampa, and as soon as we can retire in a couple year, we hope to be in the Villages.

The Officers (yes, our last name).

This Hospital is the result of a recent merger of two Hospitals, one of these was founded by the originator of that nasty stuff my mother used to give me when I had a cold...for any of you who remember....... Father John's Medicine.

We are from Weirton!! You are 10 yrs younger than we, but we might know some of the same people. Small world!! There are 4 other couples here from Weirton whom we know but they are also older than you. Isn't it nice to know there are so many wonderful people here in The Villages?!! Actually, my husband is from Weirton. We met in college and lived in Weirton for 45 yrs. Weirton Steel.

The delivery room was booked by the time we made our reservations so we ended up in one of the recovery rooms. We went up to delivery room floor and took pictures of the now boarded up window in which they used to pass newborn infants through.

Did you have a chance to dine at the Rendezvous Inn and restaurant a couple of doors down? We found them to have fantastic food with unbeatable prices and would probably stay there if we ever returned. They make freshly baked breads and breakfast is cooked to order every morning. http://www.rendezvousinn.com/
