I hear a high-pitched noise when a couple of LED light bulbs we have are on, do you have any? My husband doesn't hear it.

I was going to mention LED lights also. Some have a high pitched hum. Barely audible, but once you notice it, it can become annoying.
I only notice it if there is total silence. (Then it is not totally silent because of the LED hum!)

Chachacha, try this: When you hear the hum try turning of the circuit breakers to that area of the house. If the hum disappears, I tend to agree with previous comments about a possible power supply problem, LEDs, CFLs, or even your computer power supply. Hi frequency sounds tend to bounce around a lot, so you may have to try multiple rooms. If all else fails, hit the main breaker, if you still hear the sound, I am out of ideas. Once the sound disappears, turn on circuit breaker one at a time, when it comes back, start turning off individual items.
Hope this helps.

if you cell phone or land line too close to your Wi-Fi it may cause noise in the speakers. Turning down the volume don't help, relocation does I get Clicking buzzing sound. If sound high pitched I probably can't hear it with one ear.:undecided: Also, you may have alarm clock radio causing the buzzing sound. As suggested got to isolate circuits till its identified. Now shall we take Appliance's?

LED light bulbs on a dimmer switch will make a high pitched noise. If our guest bath doesn’t have the switch entirely off it will hum.

Please, do not turn off the main breaker unless its an emergency, like a fire-I'm a retired electrical contractor and I had experienced several Main breakers that would not reset after they were turned them off--a main breaker is not a plug in type -had to pull the meter to kill power to the main breaker in order to replace it also if you must turn off the main, turn off all the individual breakers first, reset the main and then turn on the individual breakers one at a time

We had that happen last year. Kept hearing a high pitch noise. Hubby couldn't hear it...but then he can't hear a whole lot!
Anyway...thought it was coming from the refrigerator. Called our repair guy, he came out, didn't hear anything...but I still could. Unplugged the fridge...NOPE...still there. He couldn't find anything wrong and left.
While I was getting something out a lower cabinet I realized it sounded louder. Turned out it was the AA battery in our waffle maker. It was dying and causing the "finished" tone in the waffle maker to emit a low frequency. Removed the battery...and the sound stopped. So glad I wasn't going crazy!
So check your small appliances or timers that use a battery. It could be that. Good luck!
