Does anyone know why all the employees at the BB&T Colony location were relocated and/or fired??? I made a rare inside visit yesterday and asked about one of the ladies who had been very helpful when we moved here and always remembers my name when I make the rare trip inside the bank. The teller said ALL the employees had been removed from this branch. She wasn't sure if they were fired or relocated. Employees from other locations were brought in to handle the work, some permanent and some temporary.
I can't imagine why it would be necessary to get rid of everyone.

Brick and mortar bank locations are closing as online banking increases. That is just a guess.

I don't know but i can tell you that they lost all our home equity documents with all our personal and financial info. This was four months ago and they were very unconcerned and casual about it. They thought 'maybe' they had shredded the info but no one knew. They were not forthcoming either and just told us we needed to file a few extra forms. When we got there, they brought out about 50 pages and when i said that we had signed all this before and why were we having to do again, thats when they admitted they didn't know what happened to the originals...say what? We had already used the heloc. Several people told us they would have just said oh well...we are not signing. My husband filed a complaint to the district manager in jacksonville. We did get a response after several weeks saying that our identity and financial info had been exposed. They were giving us 2 free years of coverage with Equifax...!!! Who had been exposed themselves.

I have heard that banks will sometimes routinely relocate all employees to other locations to prevent fraud. Just a guess in this situation. But, this branch did have my checking account incorrectly prepared to show the wrong beneficiary. And, they acted as if it was no big deal, but, to me it was an extremely big deal. I don't expect banks to make mistakes like that.

I tried a checking account there shortly after moving to TV, but I found staff to be rude and unhelpful and they had fees charged for many things that other banks do not, including the $75 "closing account" fee. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Sorry BBT.
