My husband and I are planning an Easter Caribbean cruise for June-July of next year with our daughter(will be 8 at time of cruise).
We've found 3 dates that fit our budget, destinations, and travel time, but we're torn between the 3 cruise lines;
Norwegian - Breakaway
Carnival - Breeze
Royal Caribbean - Harmony of the Seas

We've traveled on Carnival Splendor, previously.

Recommendations?

We've cruised on the Harmony of the Seas and it was an awesome adventure! This ship has everything!!!

3 entirely different ship....

Harmony of the Seas is an Oasis Class so it has lots to entertain the younger crowd, such as Zip line, wave surfing, rock climbing, ice skating and such. we also felt the live music was geared more to our generation. The cupcake store and such were very expensive, so you were left to pizza and sandwiches. Free food choices were not as wonderful as the other ships.....so we thought anyway

Breakaway, anytime everything, no need to dress for dinner, great plays and still some interesting things to do for the younger crowds, rope course and such, and the shows were great. Dinner and dancing dining was fun for us. Also great spa and thermal suite, we had a spa balcony. Music was a hour or so of ABBA and such, then turned into words and music I could not understand and pronounce. Oh Sheans, the 24 hour resturant, served the best fish and chips, wings and onion rings.....and the spinach did was fantastic....free

Breeze, is either 8 or 6 days when we went on it, so the itinery was a tad different, not as many choices for pay dinning, but had a great spa and thermal suite. Once again we had a spa balcony, loved them. Music, same as Breakaway, they give the oldies and hour and then change to more modern stuff. Pizza, Guy's burgers were awesome.... same as the deli and the noddle station....can't be beat

My opinion, food quality was the same, just the menu and choices of venue was different. I would go for Cost.

Its a win...win anyone you pick...

I'm leaning towards Harmony. My daughter is excited to try the zip line. Hubby wants to do Breakaway, only because it has the smallest deposit. I'm trying to get him to understand that it doesn't really matter cause we're going to pay for it, anyways LOL

I'm honestly torn between Breeze and Harmony because of our room location. Breeze, the balcony will be on the aft, which was the location I had in mind, Harmony's was located towards the front on the side.
But we've sailed with Carnival, already, so I wanted to try something new, especially since Harmony is a new ship.

I appreciate all opinions!!

We've had bad experiences on Carnival and Norwegian, so our choice from your three options would be RCL

We have been on Royal Caribbean several times over the last couple of decades. We found that enough children lack good supervision and the crew does not do a good job on cleaning so we will not use that line. (We did break our rule and still found the same problems.) For your 8 year old this could be ok so see what others say.

We went on the Breakaway a year ago out of NYC and the problem I had was the it was the smokiest ship I'd EVER been on! Smoke from the casino wafted into the atrium and smoke from every smoking area outdoors, wafted inside to the lounges associated with them. Never experienced anything like that. Usually there are designated smoking areas on the ship and the smoke tends to stay there. I don't know WHY is was so bad on the Breakaway, but is was BAD. Have cruised RCL many, many times and they always provide a good product. Have cruised Carnival once and it was fine. I would cruise NCL again, I just wouldn't go on that class ship.

I would go with the Royal Group any day. I have been on the Oasis and that and the Celebrity Solstice are my two favorite at this time.

We took our grandchildren on a Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean. Can't imagine what you saw to say that the crew doesn't do a good job of cleaning. We never saw anything dirty on any of the RCL cruises that we have been on. We never gave the children total freedom so the supervision part is moot. The ship required anyone under the age of 18 to either be with a parent or to go to their cabin by 1 am. RCL would be our choice since we have sailed all three.
