Can someone give a brief description of the medical facilities at the villages? I know there is a hospital and don’t want a review of that. I just want to know about the availability of family practices and walk in / urgent care centers.

Stop by any of the Villages Health Centers, they will be glad to give some brochures, these will answer many of your questions. My understanding are the Urgent care facilities are completely separate from Villages health, as is the Villages Regional Hospital. There are several Urgent cares facilities in the area, you should check out the closest one, check in insurance coverage, working hours, staff, etc., and you can use this site for reviews.
Your next set of questions will then be about health coverage insurance. This is complicated, and it is different if younger than 65 versus 65 or older. SHINE is one of the best places to go for unbiased information if you are 65 and older. A search of this site will provide many threads on the subject.
Hope this helps.

Are you asking about all the primary care doctors in the area are those specifically in the Villages Health?
I can speak to Villages Health. My wife and I have been using it since we moved here, about 4 years ago.
We feel it is the best health care we've had and more than matches the care we received in Massachusetts before we moved here.
My wife has had serious health issues and we feel the care she received from Villages Health is the reason she survived her problems and is doing so well now.
Appointments are almost always on time and there is never a rush to finish the appointment.
We feel our personal doctor there is very competent as are the other ones we've met at Villages Health.
You can almost always get an appointment the same day, worse case next day. So at least during their office hours Villages Health handles urgent care too... both my wife and I have made use of Villages Health for urgent care many times.
But choosing a primary care physician involves a lot a choices so what works well for us might not be the best choice for you. In any case there are lots of really good choices in The Villages area.

Plenty of doctors and specialists here that are not part of the Villages Health as well. Plenty of urgent cares.

I agree - in fact many of the "better doctors" are probably not in the Villages Health - ask around for referrals. There are both good and bad, just like everywhere else.

If anyone wants a good doctor and is willing to travel, go where the money is in Florida. It’s not here in Central-Central Florida.

Compared to what ? Newbies might be swayed with the Villages style Medicare Kool Aid. Everyone needs to do their due diligence. That Medicare store thing is way over the top, wayyy over. I suppose it appeals to those who bank at Citizens ( Savings interest rate ? You don’t need no stinking interest rate ! ) or ASI home insurance, which admittedly we have, they are extremely competitive, and the Daily Drudgery delivered to your curb every morning. I could go on, but I’ve made my point.

I am not understanding the point of this post. What does the newspaper have to do with Health care? Or Citizen's Bank?
