Not exactly what the op asked. We like Ace on 466 for propane refills because they weigh your tank first and only charge you for the difference when they fill your tank. That means you don’t have to wait for your tank to be completely empty before you bring it in. In NY they usually charge you a set price to fill your tank. I’d buy a new tank from them also because it’s really not worth the hassle of buying a new tank at Lowes and then bringing it to Ace for propane.

And here's a clue DON'T go to one of these places with the exchange programs when you need a refill. The tanks at the swap off places are not full when you get them. Did that with an old tank thought I'd get a newer tank. When I got home and put the gauge on tank was barely 3/4 full. Went back with the gauge and not one that we tried was full. Guy says we don't check them we just trade them off. But your paying for a full one. Ace is the place as you pay for what you use.

The most convenient place for me is the Ace Hardware on 27/441 just this side of Leesburg.

Ace is definitely "the place" better than any others that Ive tried. You can take your tank when you feel that it is getting low. They will fill your tank with exactly the amount needed. Can wait or pick up later.

Home Depot, you can buy the tank and then get a refill there when needed, just bring back the empty tank.
