Had high hopes for this one. Thought the "claymation/stop action-motion" would be striking and eye appealing. It was, kind of, but not nearly enough for me.
The story was weak and most of the characters did not 'hit the heart' as in many Pixar/Disney flicks. Created and written by Brits, and the "humor" is definitely British. I really don't think I LOLd once. Some OKcute parts and dry Brit humor. Just didn't quite land with me. Funny that the 'good guys' had Brit accents, the 'opposition' French and Nordic.
The visuals were just fine, I saw the budget for the movie was $50million...yikes. Tedious and laborious to make these type films...
Good to go if a MoviePass person, but to pay $9, there's other films out there. 2.5 / 5 stars.
