Not a 'Chickflick' guy, but checked this one out. I must have been in a romantic mood because this turned out to be 4 / 5 stars for me. Of course the formula get girl-lose girl-get girl. It did have a few twists which kept my interest. The acting was a bit thin in areas, but the 8 yr old girl was so cute and had great lines of script.

I see in Rotten Tomatoes, ratings are 20% Critics, 90% audience. Yet another reason to discard critical opinions many times IMO.

Saw it at the early show at LSL and about 15 in the theater - perhaps 13 were women... I held the door for many of them after the film - my eyes were still damp with the ending - and I joked "Don't look at me ladies..." They all seemed to really like the movie too.

Also> when leaving the theater I realized that the movie had ZERO violence, Zero sex/nudity et al, and if I recall very little profanity. I think it was rated PG, not sure why - but it was refreshing - perhaps not scripted and produced by "Hollywood types".

I liked the lead actress, Jessica Rothe's, work in Happy Death Day. Happy Death Day (2017) - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/happy_death_day/)

She is also in Please Stand By (2018) - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/please_stand_by_2018) playing at the Rialto Theater. Started playing there on Friday 2/16/2018.
