Looks like a fire West of TV, West of 301, maybe out 44 way. Anyone know what it is?

I just drove through there on my way back from Daytona Beach Shores. There is a lot of smoke in the woods and also in one place on the side of the road. There did not seem to be panic around it. The fire truck was by the side of the road in one spot that I could easily see all the smoke but there was no fire. Also in the Ocala Forest in some areas lots of smoke as I drove by. And there was a road side blinking like that said SMOKE AHEAD. Do not know if it is an intentional burn or what....Also the cute farm house on the main road in Paisley had a house fire and is destroyed. Sad to see that.

LOL! It satisfied my curiosity. I'll hope for planned burn and no sense of urgency :-)

Because I come home via Deland 44 and then on to 42 and then on to 25. Maybe it is different than what the OP is discussing but I saw it with my own eyes, wherever I was! I always take the backroads. Takes 1 hr and 45 exactly, never traffic or highway. I have a beach condo in Daytona Beach Shores and like to go the quiet route.

That route from Daytona is fine and well, but the OP said;

Your route is east of TV, is stays east, I saw the smoke yesterday and it was definitely west of TV. The roads you were taking were never west of TV, you never mentioned 301 or Wildwood or Oxford in your route home. That's the reason Champion 6 made the comment;

They love to burn in Florida. Such pollution.

It's an acceptable method of land clearing. Makes more sense than filling the landfills with biological material that burns nicely.

Makes sense, but look at the pollution. More pollution than...
