I haven't played golf in the Villages for a while. I was a little surprised to see the difference in rates between Priory and Resident. Even at Orange Blossom, which was always the most economical, I'm surprised. Priority is $24 and Resident is $39. Wow what a jump, I think. Non resident is $59. Still less than lots of other courses around, but am I correct that they are considerably higher than they use to be?

Thats why I don't play golf in the Villages in the winter time, they think they can rip you off, so just drive 10 mins or less and get it to 25.00 -30.00 a round.

Agreed.
That's also way the exec courses are soooooo busy
and it's relatively easy to get a t-time on a 'champ' course.
We golfed OB 2 weeks ago and a friend had a guest. It cost the guest $41.00

I guess we're paying for the convenience of driving there in a golf cart.

The winter rates have gone up a wopping 3.00 since jan 01,2007 WOW. Prority golfer pay apppox 1000.00 a yr for a couple , dont you think there should be a reduced rate ? Played Stonecrest a week ago fri, because our group, all prority players got denied and the rate was 32.00 and you got a 5.00 ticket for a couple of hot dogs ,big deal. The rates the talk host is talking about are not effective until jan 01,2010.

Golf in the Villages is still such a bargin compared to anywhere else in the country that everyone should be thankful. Even buying the premier membership to all championship courses is a bargin. There is no where you can play on such quality courses for so little cost.

I played Orange Blossum today, and frankly, no one in their right mind would call it a "championship" golf course. Very poor condition.

I agree. Moving here from North Carolina and having played many courses there that were not up to the caliber of The Village courses and no discounts for summer rates I appreciate what we have here. Most of the courses there do not overseed anymore due to the expense involved so you are playing on brown bermuda versus this nice green rye grass and still pay $30_$50 a round.

The difference between priority and resident has been $15 for some time now. I prepared a break even analysis in another post almost two years ago and it was $15 dollars then.

When you compare winter rates (prime time) in TV with summer rates here in MA (prime time) there is no comparison. At least 50% higher here in the summer than down there in the winter. And that is without the savings from the priority membership.

I agree........Go to www.golfthevillages.com and you can find the current fall rates for all courses and the winter (effective 1/1/10 - 4/30/10) rates. Hope this helps..............
