Not as bad as the critics make out.

I'd give it 7 of 10 stars. Lots of violence/shooting, but one knows that going in. Not a huge Bruce Willis fan (other than Sixth Sense) but it was a good role suited for him.

Movie shot in Chicago, even tho the novel it was based on was set in NYC. But nowadays Chicago is a perfect fit for that street violence. Also it was apparent the the producers were very careful not to depict one Race as bad... Surprised that the city approved the movie permit that depicts Chicago so poorly (but the politicians needed the $$$).

Back on point> The trailer contained all the funny parts. There are a few "give me a break" moments in the movie, but they all do. Yet another 'shoot 'em up' film that leaves me desensitized to killing bad guys. Oh, and very bad timing for the release so soon after the school event.

In the original Death Wish the Charles Bronson character is given a pass if he moved from NYC to Chicago. Here is the last scene as he just arrived there:

Not to be a Spoiler. In the Willis/2018 movie, it's set in Chicago and in the end he moves to NYC - and the finger-gun end is the same.

Bad Timing, I remember Sylvester Stallone's film "Bullet to the Head" came out a month after the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut. The title alone should of said, wait a couple of months please. I did see it on HBO and gave it a 5.

No analysis here, just a quick statement: I loved the movie.

I found something in it very interesting to say the least. Watch it and keep it to yourself though.

On another note, really like the work of actress Elizabeth Shue in certain movies. Elisabeth Shue - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/elisabeth_shue)
