Hi everyone!
We'll be coming on Thursday for our visit.
Can you tell me where to buy The Villages Map that everyone talks about?
Thanks!

Village Mercantile in Lake Sumter on Canal Street or Spanish Springs in the Renata building

The following link gives you a convenient one-page map of the major streets.

Keep one in your car and one in the golf cart for quick reference.

AAA in Sumter Landing has their own map of the Villages. If you're a AAA member they'll be glad to give you one.

You can get a free general area map showing all main streets and golf courses as well as all shopping locations. This can be picked up at any sales office. Just ask for the free general area map.

I say pay the $5 and get the good one from the mercantile (you might also ask your sales agent if you want to save the $5). It has every current (and some future) streets. That way if you want to visit some homes for sale you'll know exactly how to get to them. Most of the other maps mentioned only have the main streets and attractions.

The best map is the one the Villages have, it costs $5.00, we bought ours at the sales office, where you check in for the life style: Sales office Sumter.

It has all of the new areas and is easy to work with. Sales staff will not give you this one for free, but the $5.00 is worth it!

Parks,

You can Google maps or Anywho particular places - but to have an online map in a font that is readable to the human eye is impossible. Google your way to one of the places below and get the map....

The map others have referred to - available at the Sales Centers (LSL or SS) and the Mercatiles (Canal St in LSL and the La Reina Building in SS square) - is really worth the $5.

We got our $5.00 map from our sales rep for free. It's a great map. If you look on line for houses you can refer back to your map when you get home. Plus you can show your friends and family back home.

We've worn out a couple these maps. We use them at home for reference as you indicated, and use them to get around when visiting TV.

Our 1st map got so bad, we had to tape the folds to keep it from falling apart before we got back to get another one.

Too bad they can't make it a folded LAMINATED map!

I had mine laminated at staples but it is really stiff and hard to carry.
A gal I worked with (we delivered Oxygen/med equipt) had hers laminated somewhere else and it was much more pliable.
It is worth the money to have it laminated since rain will not screw it up.
We had an old one that was falling apart and I used a roll of clear packing tape and it worked ok.
We needed maps since gps will not pick up everywhere. Between the gps and map I was able to get all over TV.
