A quick Google search and I didn't find what you must have been referring to, but I found plenty of references to attempts to do it before. One reference shows that Bill Clinton lost his effort to use executive privilege to prevent "senior aides" from testifying. Later in that reference [ http://74.125.93.132/search?q=cache:tKNhoJdvO3EJ:www.mail-archive.com/law-issues%40mylist.net/msg03432.html+white+house+executive+privilege+%22p ersonal+secretary%22&cd=6&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us ] they mention his (Clinton's) personal secretary WILL testify. Doesn't specifically mention if Clinton tried to cover the secretary with "E.P."

"But Gibbs' justification for Rogers' absence — invoking the separation of powers — nonetheless raised some eyebrows among legal scholars. "I'd completely fall out of my chair if they invoked Executive privilege with regards to a social secretary arranging a party," said Mark J. Rozell, a public-policy professor at George Mason who recently wrote a book on Executive privilege. "There is no prohibition under separation of powers against White House staff going to Capitol Hill to talk about what they know."

"Taking ANOTHER page from the Bush/Cheney administration, the Obama white house is abusing executive privilege, taking the claim to insanely unreasonable levels."
"This new claim for executive privilege is an outrage and must be challenged by congress. Unfortunately, the congress has allowed itself to become a weak, ineffective body. Thank Nancy Pelosi for that."

I just want to add this personal comment.
Most of my posts and complaints about this President (I KNEW where his social policies would go) have been based on his lying...yes lying.
This man was elected more than any other President I can recall on CHANGE......he has done more politicing...more of the "games" played in Washington than any other. All of those things..transparency, etc. that captured many folks to vote for him were simply said to get elected..not that others before have not done the same thing but this man gained such love and support because folks REALLY believed him ! He was given every break by the media because folks actually thought he represented that change ! Just watch what he does and ignore what he says !!!
Do I consider this small story about the social sec to be a BIG deal...NO..it is somewhat funny however, but it is just ANOTHER of this man telling his followers one thing and doing another.
