What is the best way to store the battery cart for 6-7 months?

Agreed - just replaced our batteries after six years, having been on bM since new

There was a 48v batteryMinder listed for sale on TOTV a few days ago

Do you feel it is safe to leave plugged in for 7 months? What about adding water?

batteryMinder just kicks in occasionally to top-up (and desulphate) your already fully-charged batteries, so there is very little in the way of water loss. Just make sure they have maximum water in them before you leave.

Another (minor) problem is coming back to tires with 'flats' on them but, as long as you leave with them fully-inflated, they usually work themselves out within a short distance. You could put the cart up on blocks, but probably not worth the effort.

Do you not have a neighbor who will look in for you?

You might want to look into one of those home minder services.

The water should be run to keep the valves working and the traps filled. The water heater, the AC might fail. Your sprinkler might fail, Your lawn service might???? ETC.

I do have a home watch guy. Not sure about leaving something plugged in all summer.

Check with your charger manufacture. It may handle long term storage. Mine does.

When we were part-timers, I had my cart battery plugged into a Deltran Battery Tender. The power cord plugged into a Surge Protector for the Florida summer lightning storms for several years. Never had a problem..

When I store mine for 5 months I just have a friend plug it into the charger once a month. Seems to work ok for the past 5 years.

If you have home wifi and a smartphone with data, you can turn your power outlet on and off from anywhere with a Belkin Wemo or similar:

Note: 1500W max with these.

My gas cart is so much easier...just disconnect the battery, add stabilizer to full tank of fuel and leave....
