For those of you who like to help animal shelters and rescues here is what people have told me they do and maybe you would be interested in doing it, too. They will bid in fundraising auctions and the items they win they will donate to one or two other shelters or rescues. That way they have only spent money once, but it has not just helped the one rescue/shelter.....but has helped 2 or 3 (or however many you want to divide the items up among.) Then those shelters/rescues auction (or whatever) the same items and make money for their cause. And you only had to spend money once, instead of giving money to 2 or 3 different organizations. I thought it was a really great idea to make your money work harder for you.
By the way, the rescue I am with is having an auction going on right now on Facebook. We have everything from blankets, bowls, harnesses, toys, to you name it. If you want to check it out, it is Florida Dachshund Rescue Auctions. Florida Dachshund Rescue Auctions Public Group | Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/fldrauctions/) NOTE: It ends Thursday, March 21st at 9:00 pm Eastern Time. Thanks all.
