I can see why St. George is #1. Absolutely breathtaking. Beautiful place.

It’s difficult to get an accurate population count on The Villages since it’s in three counties and the MSA includes only Sumter County residents. In the last two years, the Lake County portion of The Villages (Pine Ridge and Pine Hills) had significant growth and they are not included in the MSA growth statistics. Obviously, not all of Sumter County is in The Villages either. So.......clear as mud!

St. George, UT indeed lies within a beautiful area. Brigham Young built a winter home there. It is quite a large and expensive house for the time and the remoteness. He called the area 'Dixie' and planned to grow cotton there if needed on account of the war between the states. St. George was named after one of the Mormon leaders who got along with the various native tribes well. George wore dentures and a toupee which he would take out and off to entertain the natives.

St. George is the home to many polygamists even to this day.

Today, I called the Villages District Office of customer service who stated that they were discussing that same question. They, in their conversations believed it to be 125,000. Asking for verification of that number, I was given the Villages sales number to call. A person in sales recalled hearing a number around 115,000. So, there you have it for the current population numbers for The Villages.

Don't understand the mystery. THe Villages certainly know how many house are contained here - how many amenity bills are sent out each month ! Multiply by two and should have a pretty good estimate of the population.

Two? There are certainly many more singles in homes in The Villages than most neighborhoods in the US.

Maybe a count of the outstanding Villages ID cards?

Yes and there is also homes with four - But OK multiply by 1.75. Everytime the population number surfaces it seems The Villages doesn't have an accurate count. Why ? They certainly know how to count how many golf balls are lost per year.
