I just heard the plows go bye, the sound of the 1st snow storm of the year. Seems like the lower Hudson Valley always have a snow event early in Dec..

So here I sit counting the days till we leave for our house in Hadley and watching the snow.

We leave NY next week on the 13th, escaping the NE winter for a month in TV. Kathie save us a seat at Havana CC (maybe I will bring you a snowball).

I've been here for 6 1/2 years and I still miss the snow (just watching, not shoveling or driving in it). So tonight Connecticut is getting a few inches and I just bring up the CT highway traffic cams and watch it. Cool!! What a life!!

Yikes can't wait to get out of here! Between Pitt losing and the Steelers Problems, counting the days before we get to our rental home in TV in January. We are first timers.:

I happen to get a copy of the Dec. Villages Mag. It mentions a New Years North and a New Years South. The Dynamite Duo will entertain at Lake Miona while the Keichers will entertain at Mulberry Grove. Which is better? It says you bring your own snacks and beverages? Does that include alcohol?:

Okay, so why are we high, dry, and warm in Sybericuse? Aren't we the snow capital of the country? Still I can't wait to get to TV for Christmas.

Hey Linda....when did you slip out of da hood?
Did you decide on what to do with your flooring?

Mel, a seat is saved for you and Pauline at Havana, no problem, but please keep the snowball to yourself. I haven't seen snow in over 30 years, and I don't miss it a bit... Thanks anyway. Can't wait for you two to get here. Leave the cold weather up there, Okay???? Have a safe trip down.

remember the houses down here come with free snow removal. I think they put plows on the front of golf carts

I do just the opposite. I'm in Rhode Island and could just look out my window at the lousy 3 inches of snow. I bring up The Villages WebCam and know that in 20 days I'll be out of this mess and in The Villages at least for a week.

Final snow tally was 5" of the white stuff, had to clean if off the car early this morning. Can't wait to leave next Sunday for our Hadley home. Weather man says temps will be in the 20's when we pull out of the driveway and head south.

Kathie: I will honor your request and leave the snowball here. How about a small snowman?

We are looking forward to seeing you all at crispers.

MelZ - Congratulations! You get to leave this snow in a week.

My house in TV won't be finished until mid-January so I'm stuck here in Albany, NY with this lovely snow and cold for awhile.:rant-rave: It's been really warm here for the last few weeks so I guess we were due for some colder weather. In the meantime, I still have 26 years of stuff to sort thru and get rid of.

We are only in Tv for a month so we will get to enjoy the beautiful NY winter. But it will be our last since we are relocating to Hadley in July. I feel you pain about the stuff, we are going thru the same thing.:024:

Just came home to Virginia from 4 days in TV and guess what? 3 inches of snow in my driveway. Must be the global warming. First snow the first week in December since I have lived here for 30 years. :a20:

We leaving here next Saturday,
To Connecticut we have to go,
To spend Christmas with the grandkids,
And I hope it doesn’t snow.

Cause if I have to shovel,
Like I did 3 times last year,
In 2010 I may just celebrate,
My holidays right here.

The kids can come to Florida,
Santa can come down too,
Put presents under our tree here,
A Villages Christmas may have to do!

Snitzel,

You said, in part ..."I bring up The Villages WebCam.

What webcam, or are just just pulling my leg?

Gene, there is a village webcam.... one for SS and the other for LSL. I'll try to attach the link here..

The URL that KathieI posted does work, but for some reason when I just click on it, it takes me to Yahoo. If you just copy and paste the URL into your address bar it works fine. Once there you can toggle using their links to either of the squares.

You can also view the webcams from thevillages.com homepage. Just click on the temperature in the upper right corner.

We will be coming for the Christmas Holidays on the 23rd. I hope we get to meet and chat with some of you in person. This will be our first Christmas in TV. Got any ideas for entertainment??

I had never thought about looking at the web cam when it's snowy and cold here. Also finding the temperature on the Villages web page and the link to the web cam was pretty cool. Only 72 degrees there, huh?! How do you survive such a cold snap. :) Actually, I envy you your warmth. I'll bet those of you who come down after Christmas find 72 quite hot!

Fulton, NY is just north of us but we are still pretty much dry, just a slight dusting. Can't believe we are about to lose our Snow Capital title. If we are going to freeze, at least we should be able to brag about it!
