Just received a call on my cell and they asked for me by name. Said they were sending a crew to my neighborhood for a free roof inspection for hurricane damage. I said I didn't have any damage. They said well my neighbors did and blah, blah. I hung up. The call was a number in Belleview. Tried calling back and number is no longer in service. I don't like that they knew my name. BEWARE!

They could know your name from a phone book or a deed registration. Additionally, if the call was VOIP they could easily show a fake number.
Give Seniors vs Crimes and give them the “phone number.”

Cell phone, not in phonebook or deed registration. Tried to think of some other source.

OP, if you surf the internet with your cell phone that is how they got your number. Also if you have an Android phone you can look at the individual permissions for each application, and shut down many of these. I once saw a flashlight app that needed permissions for EVERYTHING on my phone, it was deleted immediately!

How do you know the number was in Belleview? If it was from a cell phone, the number has no association with a physical location. Also, many people use their cell phone as their only phone, and many websites require that you provide a phone number to set up an account or to do something else on the site.

Many of the calls coming in to me have the town such as Belleview, Leesburg, Gainesville etc. in the caller ID. Don't know why.
