Al Gore is always hungry for publicity of his cause – Anthropogenic Global Warming. To demonstrate his involvement, this three-time college flunk out, went on the very scientific forum of Conon O’Brien’s Tonight Show. During this time he said the interior of the earth is several million degrees at 2 kilometers down.
Greater ignorance than that is hard to imagine. Further in the interview, he said that ‘special’ drill bits are needed to deal with the heat. No material known to man can exist in the presence of heat of several million degrees, be it Celsius, Fahrenheit or absolute!
The greatest tragedy is not that we realize that his work is bunk, but rather that we do not insist that he stand up and debate Lord Monckton or even Sarah Palin, both of whom have called him out and both of whom he avoids like poison, knowing he will be proved to have deliberately lied to support his carbon trading scheme.

Since Gore(y) invented the Internet how can you say the center of the earth's temperature is different from what he says? He obviously got his information from the Internet.
Of course it could be that he made an honest mistake when he said he invented the Internet and again when he said the center of the earth had a temperature of several million degrees.
Good thing Bush didn't make these claims because i hate to think what may have happened.

I'll have to check my copy of that show now (I record it nightly but haven't watched in a few days).
I hate to be the one to break it to him, but SOUTH AFRICAN DIAMOND MINERS go down 2km in the mines! He's talking about temperatures that are hotter than the SUN.
I definitely have to go watch this now.

Anyone got the date of his appearance? It wasn't within the past week.

Ok, I'm answering my own question. It was in mid-November. He was talking to Conan O'Brian about geothermal energy. Here's the transcript:
O'BRIEN: ...and that is, as I understand it, using the heat that's generated from the core of the earth ...
GORE: Yeah.
O'BRIEN: ...to create energy, and it sounds to me like an evil plan by Lex Luthor to defeat Superman. Can you, can you tell me, is this a viable solution, geothermal energy?
GORE: It definitely is, and it's a relatively new one. People think about geothermal energy - when they think about it at all - in terms of the hot water bubbling up in some places, but two kilometers or so down in most places there are these incredibly hot rocks, 'cause the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees, and the crust of the earth is hot ...
Now, just for reference.
It's about 15 Million degrees Celsius at the core of the sun.
At the surface, it's about 5500 degrees Celsius.
At the center of the earth, it's about 4000 degrees Celsius, though some scientists think it could be as high as 9000C
The highest recorded temperature on earth was 58C (Libya, 1922)
Can SOMEbody fact-check this guy BEFORE he goes on TV?

Just for reference....
"There are many kinds of truth. Al Gore was poleaxed by an inconvenient one yesterday.
The former US Vice-President, who became an unlikely figurehead for the green movement after narrating the Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, became entangled in a new climate change “spin” row.
Mr Gore, speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, stated the latest research showed that the Arctic could be completely ice-free in five years.
In his speech, Mr Gore told the conference: “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr [Wieslav] Maslowski that there is a 75 per cent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.”
BUT OF COURSE.......
"However, the climatologist whose work Mr Gore was relying upon dropped the former Vice-President in the water with an icy blast.
“It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,” Dr Maslowski said. “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”
