For years, I have gone online and used the hold mail feature on usps.com to hold my mail when I am gone for a week or two
Today, I tried to do it and got the response “No facility found for address”
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this related to the recent trials and tribulations with the post office in The Villages??

Answers are online. usps.com > Help > FAQs > Receiving Mail > Hold Mail > Hold Mail Submitting

Same exact problem today.
(There was no help in help other than an 800 number.)
Hopefully will resolve itself (tomorrow?)
Can probably just leave a note in mailbox at postal station stating problem and giving hold dates.

I used to use the USPS Mail Hold online, until the great lady at the mail station said that if I just left a note in my box...she would take care of it.
So that's what I've done for the last few years.
I then put a note in my box when I'm back, there's a key the next day..and my accumulated mail is in one of the package boxes.

Our station has yellow hold mail cards.....has worked for 15 years.
Nothing to do with recent staffing changes!

Bogie.....EVERY Mail Station has those Yellow Cards!! People are either just lazy, or oblivious in most cases. Plus, using the cards at the Mail Station, alongwith a conversation with the Mail Attendant, will usually clear up any confusion about one's desires ahead of time, or allow for even greater flexibility for longer periods of absence (believe official hold period for USPS is 6 mos.). Really nice to have that service available right at the Mail Station!! Alongwith Forwarding service as well!! Cheers!! :)

I live in Sabal Chase, went out online and had no problem arranging mail hold -- maximum time of 30 days.

Most everything we get “mail” wise comes electronically. Bills, banking even our office visits bill. Only thing we go to the post box for is the junk mail that I throw in recycling. We put a note in the box when we go away for awhile, and ask to toss the junk mail. In a few months we get maybe 6 pieces of mail worth opening.
