Wildwood cycle shop is good. You may need a new chain (they "stretch" with time as the rollers in the chain wear) and/or a new gear cassette (the teeth wear with time) or just the derailures adjusted.

They have always been good to us. Not trying to sell something all the time. They offer good advice and service.

Frankly, you've not supplied enough information for anyone to help you. "Chain adjusted-gears slipping."

There is all kinds of information on the internet. It could need anything from a cleaning and a lube, to simple adjustment to worn out parts.

You said you bought it used. I assume you did not pay much for it. A clean and tune up will cost you about $50. Is it worth that to you? Perhaps, IN MY OPINION, learning to do it yourself would be far wiser.
