Golf course conditions

I only play the executive courses. IMHO they are in pretty good shape considering the season and the traffic. If we could convince every one they should repair their ball marks and rake the sand traps they would be better.

BTW, if you haven't been here before here's a heads up. Due to the nature of the grass we do not replace divots. We fill them with sand. There are sand containers at each tee box and most carts have sand containers on board.

Also, on the executive courses, we play "ready golf". We don't spend time deciding who who has the honors. The one who is ready, hits. This speeds up the pace of play. Unfortunately, sometimes the pace of play can get bogged down so "ready golf" is academic. If that happens just relax and go with the flow.

just a minor correction to down's post, one of the tee boxes at each hole will have divot mix, if the one I am hitting from doesn't have divot mix I take my sand bottle, if I don't take a divot I still have the bottle to use to fix the one's from previous golfers....GN

GN - a great philosophy - leave the course in better shape than you found it.

They are nice and green. This time last year due to a lack of rain I think the courses were much drier and not as nice as they are now.
I also agree with the previous post that golfers need to fill in the divots and rake the footprints they leave in the sand traps.

I play the championship courses, and right now Cane Garden and Mallory seem to be in good shape(greens wise). Hacienda's were a little inconsistent, but look great and should improve. Exec. wise, Bogart, Bacall, Yankee Clipper, Truman are good greens now

Good Man, that Golfnut...

If everyone filled their divot and/or ballmark and one more, raked your footprints and someone else's, and picked up what trash they find then every course would be more pleasant to play for everyone.

Don't waste your money on Mallory. The greens are in horrible condition. I don't know if their overseeding didn't take or what, but the grass is sparse, the greens are hard like concrete, and they appear diseased in spots. They've got the practice green covered with sand. Cane was beautiful the other day.
