Here's a strange sighting.... at the intersection of Buena Vista and 466, on the Northeast Corner (i.e. Saddlebrook golf course), the pole that supports the traffic signal.... has a number of "Locust"-like critters clinging to it. I first saw them about 10 days ago. They seem to be clinging and creating some type of white web.
Wonder what they are???
A quick google search implied that Florida doesn't have the 7 year or 17 year locusts/cicadas like we had in the mid-Atlantic.
OK, you Florida natives (or long time Floridians).... are there Locusts or Cicadas in this area???

07, I saw those last Saturday, and I also wondered what they were. Do we have an entomologist here?

We sure have them in Ohio and they don't spin webs they eat leaves and then bury themselves for seven years or some long time. Or have babies that bury themselves... I am not good at entomology. I was a Cheerleader.
I had one in my front yard this week. Recognized it from my Ohio garden.
