Saw it at BW this morning - theater was 3/4 full.
First (gotta get this off my chest) A couple (Wildwood no doubt) brought in 3 kids - each under 5ish and youngest maybe 2. Heard chattering and crying across the rows - luckily they were on the other side, or you would read about me on 'the other news site...grrr. OK back to the show....
4/5 stars but I'm very conflicted. I'm not truly a Marvel or superhero movie fan - although some Batman and Superman films are great. This one threw in everyone but the SuperKitchenSinkHero. 2.5 hours. Story and entire movie was very confusing (for me) complex and convoluted. Scenes change from one part of the universe to another...beyond my comprehension. I did not see all the Marvel films so do not know many of the characters etc. A LOT of CGI of course -LOTS. But quite good. Very good actually. One big BAD guy wanting the Universe. Many good guys...or not-so-good guys and gals keeping him from it. Quiite a few chuckles and downright laughs - lots of funny deadpan stuff from Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo and others. Some mini-characters (or supporting minis) questionable as to - WHY??? Perhaps to get a name star in the casting $$$ and there were quite a few with 45 seconds screentime. Speaking of $$$, it will make a ton and a half+++.
A smattering of occasional PG-13 language and gestures.
I had to make one pitstop 2/3 thru, came back in and hardly missed anything it seemed. Also heard there was something during the credits worthy to stay. I had to 'go' again, so left for 2 mins when credits started. Back in theater, and stood on the side for about another 10 mins while THOUSANDS of names slowly rolled by - yikes... Then there was a very short scene, (maybe 2 minutes) with a name star and others to continue the 'ending' and maybe reinforce the real ending. I think. Still not sure. I feel so old and overcome with confusion.... I'll need to ask one of my grandkids after they see it.
