Who doesn't care at all about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?

I like the Royals and following their lives. They are part of history. And this lot is quite likable.

You are not the only one. I don't care either. If I were a British citizen, I would be outraged at how much taxpayer money is spent on these people who don't work for a living. But, as a U.S. citizen, I am outraged about the money we spend on people related to and friends of our elected officials, who also don't work for a living, such as first ladies. At least the elected officials are accountable for doing something.

I’ve never particularly cared what the Royals do. I’ll check out her dress, the fascinators, other clothing worn by guests but that’s it.

I guess if I had a choice I would rather hear about them instead of the Kardashians.

I do respect Prince Harry for his work with injured vets through the Invictus Games and other events he supports.

But from a celebrity standpoint I couldn't really care less.

I didn't get invited either. ;)

There is in some of us an enjoyment of watching famous people. I like watching the Royal family. There is still left over in many woman, small princesses who had a crown and pretty dress they wore on Halloween.

Hollywood doesn't often have good manners. They don't live in real castles and don't have footmen and Cinderella carriages. Although the royal family does have scandals, they do it better, but that is only my opinion.

I also like that the royals don't seem to be pierced in odd places and have tattoos peeking out of their decolatage. (red line says I spelled that wrong) You get where I'm going.

I am somewhat disappointed that Harry didn't marry our granddaughter, but hey.

They do keep budding into my Facebook page but then again so do a lot of other people. It is sometimes annoying. Queen Rania's official website (https://www.queenrania.jo/en) Her not so much. For being irritating that is.

You beat me to the same response. I know who they are but don't care. I have issues with the whole idea of "Royalty" period. I have a hard time getting star struck by anyone. Like they saying goes "they put their pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us".

Actually they might have a valet do it.

Some of the royals seem quite down-to-earth when compared with some other celebrity royalty who often act very strangely.

Some are as well as some men. Cannot say I care much what Prince Charles does anymore but I did really like Princess Diana. She was a very positive influence on many people all over the world. Diana, Princess of Wales | The Royal Family (https://www.royal.uk/diana-princess-wales)

I am not taken up by most Hollywood celebrities. I can't even find a late night talk host that I like since Johnny Carson.

But I like me a good princess, when I run across one.:pepper2:

I follow maybe 2000 Hollywood or elsewhere celebrities on Facebook but mostly this is just because I am so into movies and TV shows of late. They have been so very interesting.

I usually read at night so do not watch any of these late shows. Do tape Saturday Night Live and watch that when I get around to it.

I don't understand why the British people still put up with the Royal family. I understand that they were once monarchs and gave the country up to democratic rule, but that was ages ago. Isn't it time to end the whole charade?

Funny thing is that a lot of my British friends are very proud of the Queen and the rest of them.

I'm not sure who you mean by friends of politicians, but it is important that the first lady is protected. And as I'm sure you know every first lady has done charitable work and promotes a cause. They also plan White House function and perform other tasks. It's not as though they do no work whatsoever.

But I can see your point where some of the first ladies in the past have had enormous staffs. I'm glad to see that the current first lady has cut her staff down to a more reasonable number.

The only celebrity worth following is Chuck Norris.
When Chuck misspells a word, all dictionaries have to be updated.
Chuck once hit 11 out of 10 targets with 9 bullets.
Not only can Chuck walk on water, he can swim on land.
Chuck can slam a revolving door.

I'm not British but, a lot of of what we see is a stage show.
For example, on a tour of the tower of london the guide points out structures that are several hundred years old.
When, asked on the side, did the Germans not bomb here in WWII. The truth that I got was oh that was REBUILT in 1962 etc.
On our side of need for history the US has purchased a bridge from England and rebuilt it in the US. In NY they are running very used English double Decker buses as tour buses.
Currently we are denying, perhaps, some prefer hiding and distorting the civil war, slavery etc.
Like most things, the English Royal family, is an edited fairy tale. The cost is negligible and it is good for tourism.

Good point, I did go to tour Windsor Castle when I was there but mainly because I am interested in architecture. I was just as interested in the bombed out church in Munich which is now a tourist attraction. Tourism does play a big role in historical preservation.

Seagal is a dirtbag in real life.

I have a friend and ex-coworker, who sold him some very expensive antique items and had to take him to court...to get his money.

It seems a lot of 'famous' people think they can get away with...ripping off the little guys.

I'm Irish so definitely not. Queen and Prince Phil are cousins. Also, Queen is actually of German extract, not English. I'm OK with her though. She has three drinks a day. An eye opener in the morning, one with dinner and an after dinner cordial. (Seriously.) Also a decent sense of humor supposedly.

I was a fan of Diana. Anyone else?

I am so old fashioned. It would surprise the heck out of me if a bunch of guys after golf were trying to guess what designer Meghan Markle had picked for her gown, and whether or not they would kiss on the balcony.

I loved the Queen Mother and to a lesser extent the Queen and most of all Diana. Yes they weren’t perfect but they did have dignity and it’s one of the things I look for these days. All the gossip and magazine features full of fluff about them....couldn’t care less although hearing about the Royal Family now and then is interesting to me.

Thank you! So agree. Here's hoping Harry and Meghan have a long and happy life together. I remember watching the television coverage of Diana and Charles getting married; I thought it was a fairy tale come true (but what did I know, I was only 20 at the time). But that marriage quickly turned into a train wreck. I think both William and Harry have made good choices and didn't rush into marriage.
