John Sandford's Twisted Prey is good but it follows up a story from an earlier book started in Silken Prey.

I think a great book which teaches as it entertains is titled "The Sociopath Next Door". It was written by a Professor at Harvard and as you read the content you are also educatings yourself. Just an alternative?:read:

There is a series called The Ian Rutledge series by Charles Todd that are exceptional on a number of levels. They are very good mystries, and the lead character, Rutledge is a Scotland Yard inspector just after WWI who has some interesting psycological issues. The first in the series is A Test of Wills.

Actually, Twisted Prey and Silken Prey are part of the Lucas Davenport series by John Sanford. The entire series is very good.

You might enjoy reading Ruth Rendell who is known for mysteries, and who also writes psychological thrillers as Barbara Vine. Google her for more information.
