We had Testerman"s clean our wood slate blinds after nearly 8 years. They did a fine job, they looked almost new. However, the next day when we went to pull up some blinds, they squeaked real bad?? Called Testermans and Austin came back but said there was nothing that can be done??? Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions. There does not seem to be any place to "grease" (WD40).
Thank you.

Are they wood slat blinds? Or are they Plantation Shutters? If they are blinds you can take them down and gently WD 40 the mechanism this should stop the squeaking. Any questions PM me Len

Keep in mind folks, WD-40 is not a lubricant. It is a penetrant and de-greaser. It evaporates. For wood assemblies use silicone spray as one poster said.

They are wood slats, seems to be popular blinds in TV. will try dry silicon spray, just might work. Other thing I might try is put just a little petroleum jelly on the slide to see if that will quite them down a little. Thanks for replies. Very helpful.
