Marsh Bend, DeLuna, and District 13 flyover 5-20-2018

This past Saturday afternoon just before the storms rolled in I flew over the construction areas of DeLuna, Marsh Bend, and the newly announced District 13 (CDD-13). Lots of earth work going on in these areas.

The large number of trucks and amount of heavy equipment in motion is just a small peek into the economic driver that The Villages is for Sumter and surrounding counties. There was easily over a hundred people at work in this area that is still basically unseen by most. This work has been going on for over 6 months. And this is still just the start of the work to be done over the next 4 years in this small area of The Villages.

I could not help myself yesterday when editing this video, watching trailers for this weekend's movie releases drove me to some of the most recognizable classical and movie music of the last half century. Hans down some of the best music produced by a Solo composer. I hope you enjoy it and the video. :popcorn:

I recently read in the Daily Sun that 301 will be widened to 4 lanes from the turnpike to CR 470.

I recently read in the Daily Sun that 301 will be widened to 4 lanes from the turnpike to CR 470.

From the traffic studies I've seen, that is in the planning stages and will be driven by growth here in The Villages. Also in the planning stages is renovations to the Turnpike US301 exit and on ramps in place of the CR468 exit. If you've not used these lately let me assure you, they really suck especially the southbound exit from the Turnpike.

Love the Star Wars theme.. Then the Welcome to District 13 kinda has a Hunger Games vibe to it.. lol
