It is a great community from the standpoint of honoring both country and our veterans. I'd like to think in the future even more of our residents will participate by showing " the colors ". If you drive through The Villages the flags diminish in number as you drive south. Are the " new " veterans being priced out of retiring here ? I surely hope not. Maybe something for the developer to consider as time goes on.

Or possibly not here full time, or have gone up north to escape the heat, and rain

While I love seeing the flags, and I am retired Army, I would appreciate them being displayed properly. This means, for those who hang them vertically (stripes up and down) that the stars are in the upper left corner from the intended audiences vantage point. Again, I truly appreciate the intent.

I was accustomed to two flags per year in Joisey. Looks like it it mat be 3 or 4 in Florida. The weather is brutal on our flag. Ours is lit from the top. I'm going to do something better shortly.

Had Therm install flagpole and now proudly flying the Stars and Stripes. Took a while and a lot of due diligence but Therm Nicholls of the Villages Flagpoles is the guy! Reliable, meticulous and a patriot. Did everything from helping decide on the best spot to getting ARC approval. I highly recommend you contact him if you are considering a flagpole of your own: therm@villageflagpoles.com

I am a flag waver. Fly one 7/24/365 on a lighted pole. Do object to those who violate covenants/ restrictions, however. Florida statute allows for the flying of the US flag and a military branch flag or MIA or KIA. Does not allow College, Team, Club Skull and bones, Trump or other banners. These other , pennants distract from the purpose of the Florida statutes. Deed an law violations
