Just want to tell everyone to mark their calendars for Urban Flats next New Year's Eve. Most of you know I love Flats. They are now under new ownership. Mike & Gina are the new owners. They are really a great couple & have made some awesome changes. :pepper2: Stop by & say Hi to them. They enjoy meeting the people & want to be a part of the community.
They had a New Year's Eve party last night that was fabulous. The price was right, they had gaming tables, a DJ, prizes & a buffet with really good food. Pork, chicken, salmon, etc. We gambled, danced & partied from 6:00 to 2:00 am. The whole place was packed. Everyone had a fabulous time.
Life really is wonderful in the Villages. :D

We noticed the gaming tables as we passed Urban Flats last night. What was the deal on the gambling? It looked interesting.

They gave everyone who bought a ticket 5,000 to spend at the tables that you would turn into chips. It was really fun. The ticket price was good. $31.00 & change p.p. included a seat inside, the entertainment, buffet, gaming tables, champagne toast, tax & tips. Then for drinks, it was happy hour all night.

Sounds like a lot of fun and where we are new to TV we were looking for something to do. Nice to hear about it a day after but question, how would someone have known about it? Did not see anything in the Daily Sun? Maybe the new owners should consider this

It sold out pretty quick just from people finding out about it at Flats. This was the 3rd. New Year's Eve we spent there.

I wonder how far in advance they pre-sell their tickets...I'd go put my name on the list today!
We spent $65 each on a four-course dinner - salad, raspberry sorbet (is that really a "course"??), dried out grilled chicken breast along with an inedible piece of mahi mahi :yuck: and a slice of cheesecake for dessert! (oh yeah, we had 2 drink coupons each!)

No, this was not in The Villages, it was at a Hilton in Melbourne!
Next year...we stick to The Villages!:a040:
PS At least we were with family...that made it all worthwhile!

Because Mike & Gina, the new owners, didn't take over til Dec. 1st., tickets didn't go on sale til a little later in the month. It was such a success, we were all kidding them to start next years list.
