I’ve recently posted a negative review on Cody’s so I thought I would post a positive review on TooJay’s. For the last 6 months I’ve been on a low carb diet which seriously limits my menu selections at most restaurants. Of all the salads I’ve had at Villages restaurants, TooJay’s Cobb has been the best. I like their salad and soup special. Their soups are excellent. They always have a variety of veggies that can be substituted for potatoes to go along with meatloaf, chicken, etc. Their Shepard’s pie even though it includes potatoes is pretty low in carbs. Prior to being on this diet, my absolute favorite breakfast was the TooJay’s special which includes 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries with onions and peppers, a large waffle and a grilled onion bagel. A lot of carbs there!

TooJay’s is kind of boring though, no drafts no entertainment. But I find for the food, it’s one of the better choices here.

What is a veggie Reuben? Sounds like a conflict in terms. :)

Most of their food is prepared at a Central Location packaged, frozen and delivered to their various locations. Like a lot of establishments in the Villages, 1- 2 steps above hospital chow.

Really mean-spirited comment. I haven’t met anyone here who didn’t like Too-Jays food. Some complaints about slow service when there busy which is nearly all the time

Can’t speak for all hospitals, but to me that was a complement. The Indiana University Hospital on the north side of Indianapolis had one of the best restaurants in the area. Great salad bar, fresh grill for burgers and such, pizza, and a daily special made fresh to order. Many office workers ventured to the hospital cafeteria for lunch.

TooJays has a good menu and is solid “go-to” restaurant for post golf breakfast or lunch.
