This is really sad that these days we need police to guard people praying.

It is, but unfortunately it is a concern and seems to be another very sad sign of the times.
I know of a church (not in TV) that has asked CCL carriers who are carrying at the time to check in at the door so that they can be sure there is some level of protection in the church while services are going on.
Regarding The Villages specifically, I have noticed police cars outside of some churches in the area, but I was under the impression they were there for traffic control. Maybe not?

If it's like Jacksonville, the church is paying for the service. Many churches there hired jso officers to manage traffic primarily but to also be a uniformed presence

Our pastor in TV has a retired policeman follow him around the church and they lock the doors during service. So sad what is happening.

When one thinks about it list those places where you go in a day that have police or paid security.
The list might surprise some.
Protecting soft/vulnerable targets is nothing new.
The reporting of and about it is however!!

The church I used to go to outside of TV had police at the services for parking and for safety but also was vandalized nearly every week. The church is located in a nice area. The staff said there are some people who think if the church is vandalized, they won't be able to open their doors and that's the point. A lot of eggs thrown at it, etc.

Very glad to hear they are dealing with reality. Sorry that this reality is really happening. Shameful. Confession time. Remember the old bumper sticker? Jesus is coming and he's pi**#d. How true.

With the amount of $$$$$$$ +++++ they rake in I'm not surprised. Just recently a Pastor is asking his Flock ( Followers ) to dig deeper in the pocket he needs $ 54 million to buy himself a new plane...He'll get it.

Yep.
But hey, you don't expect that a pastor can spread the word in anything smaller...do you?
Televangelist Jesse Duplantis wants fourth plane [Video] (https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/televangelist-need-fourth-54-million-dollar-private-jet-015717391.html)
Prosperity gospel televangelist Jesse Duplantis is pleading with his followers, claiming he needs a $54 million jet to help him efficiently spread the gospel to as many people as possible, the Washington Post reports.
In a video posted to YouTube, television preacher Duplantis asked the Lord — and his hundreds of thousands of followers around the world — to fund a new Falcon 7X private jet.
Duplantis has not clarified how he would spread his version of the gospel or help his followers with the purchase of his fourth private jet...
Simply amazing. :ohdear:

He did do a few good thing's. He pointed out something like he wasn't going to ride a Donkey and more importantly he included his phone number of where to send the donation. I thought of you immediately. :clap2:

The fascination with guns in today's society is quite alarming to the average American, but unfortunately our lawmakers have sold out to the NRA so it's inevitable that gun violence is only going to keep getting worse. In ten or fifteen years will the National Guard standing guard on our street corners be a common site? Twenty years ago were we seriously considering arming school teachers?

Synagogues across the country have required police protection for a number of years now, especially during holidays when attendance is high.

What exactly do you mean by "have required police protection?"
Are you saying that there have been attacks and therefore the local authorities are providing the protection, or that like most other churches...they have chosen to hire off-duty police with their own funds?
I'm just curious, as I don't recall (not saying there hasn't been, I just don't remember)...any systematic attacks on synagogues.

When I took the class years ago to become a Certified NRA Pistol Instructor two of my classmates were pastors. In talking with them, they were aware of the vulnerability of churches and their flocks during services and wanted to be prepared to face any outcome.

In the department I worked for in Virginia, police were assigned to synagogues. This was not an overtime assignment.

Let me start by saying that I think attacks or threats against ANY houses of worship...are ABOMINABLE!!
But my question to your post would be...was it just synagogues?
If so...why just them?
Particularly given that it is black churches that have suffered the most incidents/threats...over the years.

Not to mention the shocking increase of threats/violence against Mosques.

And of course, for those places where the local police do not provide protection and the church has to pay for it...black and Muslim churches typically are poorer and don't have the funds to do so.
Here's a balanced article on church shootings.

It was because of threats which were made.

During Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kipur, the holy days when Jewish attendance in places of worship are high,it is unfortunate that various threats have been made nation-wide. Congregations have asked for police protection as a result of those threats. I do not know for certain whether most Jewish places of worship pay the police department. My guess is that it is part of their operating budget.
