From the Villages Daily Sun Facebook page:

BREAKING: Villages CDD District Manager Janet Tutt announced her retirement today. Assistant District Manager Richard Baier was tapped as her successor. Tutt started with the community development districts in June 2005 as a co-manager and became its sole manager upon Pete Wahl’s retirement in 2007. Tutt works with and reports to three commercial CDDs and 12 residential CDDs. Her last day will be July 9. We’ll have more in Thursday’s Daily Sun.

So she has had enough? It must have been rough for her with all those complaints and gripes.

I spent most of the day last Thursday with Janet Tutt and Richard Baier while participating in the Resident Academy. Almost everyone defers hard questions to her because of her expertise/history of TV and her calm demeanor. She let Mr. Baier conduct the meeting which I thought was a little strange as she is usually the lead person. I bid best wishes to both in there new roles in life.

Good luck to her. A very tough job she did with dignity. Smart and very experienced with politics. If I were CEO of any large corporation she would be on my top ten hire list.

I think she did a fantastic job considering she had to graciously put up with all the second guessing from the know-it-alls. All of you that bemoaned her decisions or leadership, now's your chance to show what you're made of. Step right up to the plate.

Good luck to her in her retirement.

We wish her health and happiness in her retirement. She went through one of the biggest losses in life about a year ago. I'm certain she made more good decisions than poor ones. Thanks for helping us to have this beautiful place to live.

My personal opinion is that she did an excellent job under very difficult circumstances. I look at her job as being a no win situation. She had to appease the residents and then appease the Developer ........... who, after all, has the last word in EVERYTHING.

Best wishes to her in her retirement.

It's only my opinion, but after ten years of watching this woman operate (including six years as a resident), I believe that there are three people most responsible for the absolutely best retirement community in the world - Harold Schwartz, the founder; Gary Morse, the developer; and Janet Tutt, the fixer. Very seldom have I heard negativity directed toward her, which is amazing, since she is the person who deals with all the problems, and by the nature of her position, disappoints people every day.
