This note if for those who say we should "leave the alligators alone," or point out that "they were here first."

"A Florida woman who was reportedly dragged by an alligator into a pond while walking her dogs Friday is believed to be dead, authorities said." - Fox News

Other reports stated that they killed the alligator and found the woman's arm inside of it.

While this is certainly a tragedy for the woman and her family, the real story is that she was walking her two dogs (that's meals, in alligator speak) very close to the pond. Most likely, the gator snapped at and grabbed one of the dogs and she was grabbed as she tried to save it.

Keep your dogs, emotional support pets, children, and selves away from the banks of ponds which are natural habitats for gators!

Woman missing after reported alligator attack in Florida - CBS News (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/alligator-attack-reported-davie-florida-today-2018-06-08/)

These are rare with the last death from a gator attack occurring 2 years ago making 24 deaths by alligator in the last 60 years.

TOTV's own gator gus jumped in a fought off an alligator that had his dog in its jaws by the leg. This was around Lake Sumter. Made the national news if I remember correctly.

I do try to avoid the ponds when out with my dog.
