My phone is running very slow. I want to clear the cache, and see if that helps, but I don't know how. Any help is appreciated.

There are several solutions to your problem in Google and YouTube, try a search sting of 'Samsung Galaxy S5 running slow', hope this helps.

I would shut it off and turn back on again. Maybe a reboot will help.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S III which is in perfect condition so I ended up writing down every contact and phone number and doing a factory reset. I reinstalled the phone numbers manually and it stretched the life of the phone another year. I would still have it except it is unsupported technically now.

We finally have fantastic phones, IPhone 8+, I hope this is the last one I ever have to buy and it last's 20 years.

I would listen to Mr. VillageTinker his idea is way less painful than mine. Mine is the last resort. Good Luck.

1. Follow the steps in this video: Samsung Galaxy S5 : How to clear cached data for all apps (Android Phone) - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVOtcmd1AIU)

2. Or try this free app: Turbo Cleaner - Boost, Clean, Space Cleaner. This one is from Apex Apps. There are many available, so look for the one from Apex Apps.
I use it on an older Android tablet which has Android 6.0. It may not work with Android 7.0 and higher which I don't think you have on a Galaxy S5.

Good luck!

Thanks, all. I watched the video. Guess I am just afraid to pull the trigger, I would screw it up.
