I have never been able to understand the need for great wealth unless you want to better the lot of mankind. There is only so much money that you or your family can use, and there is so much good you could do with great wealth, and some people do set up great foundations to help others, but so many of these billionaires sit on their money, or use it for politics, or to manipulate people instead of making it work for the good of the less fortunate. Right now it comes to my mind how much good you could do with enormous wealth for the people at the borders (all over the world) who are in need of help. If there is such a thing as “Judgement Day” the term “special place in hell” is appropriate.

I saw the movie several months ago...pretty good. I did a little research into the Getty family...very dysfunctional. The grandfather, J. Paul Getty, played by Christopher Plummer in the movie, wasn't exactly a jolly grandpa.
Definitely worth renting or streaming.

He could have given Scrooge a run for his money. Literally.

LOL. According to an article about the movie on Vanity Fair's web site, J. Paul Getty was worth $2 billion at the time of his grandson's 1973 kidnapping. JPG's relationship with his children was not the greatest. He believed his grandson staged the kidnapping to get some of his $$. He was supposedly so cheap that he installed a pay phone for guests to use at his 72 room mansion in England.
