My friend and I had a delightful lunch experience today at the new Mexican restaurant on 441/360 where Athena briefly lived. Brisas Del Mar (Sea breezes) held their ribbon cutting opening today, and we found ourselves amid the hoopla of the Press, Chamber officials and Brisas employees caught up in the excitement. The decor is just right boasting hand painted murals and seat backs, the room is brightly lit. Latin music completed the ambiance. Of yes, the food is EXCELLENT

Good to hear that we have another choice in Mexican fare. Hopefully, it will be a little more auténtico than most of the others. Will try it soon.

What did you have to eat?

Being not overly adventurous I had a chicken taco Salad. The shell was fresh and crisp, was filled with a generous portion of shredded chicken, the correct amount as in not too much lettuce and nicely topped with guacamole and sour cream. Nicely presented and worth the cost of $10. A complementary basket of warm crisp chips, and tasty salsa was refilled without asking

My wife had the same dish and commented that she had the most chicken in a taco salad versus anywhere else we had eaten. She also liked that all of the chicken was moist and not dried out.

We started with the Papa a la Guancaina appetizer which my wife found to be too spicy for her, but I found enjoyable. I had the beef fajitas which were very tasty. Add on an excellent margarita and we ended up with an excellent dining experience.

We hope that they don't "dumb down" the menu and reduce the seasoning to accommodate those who prefer bland food. I said as much to the owner. Only time will tell......

Very friendly staff, clean restaurant (including the bathrooms-yes we do check) and great atmosphere. We will be going back.

My wife and I just had a very pleasant meal here, also. My wife had the salmon and I had a combo plate. Both were very good. As stated, the salsa was chunky and tasty without being too spicy. Of course there was 2 kinds of hot sauce on the table, if that's your thing. We will definitely be back.

Our experience was different. We went to Brisas del Mar last
evening. Service was fast enough but the chips they brought us were stale and tasted rancid. The waitress brought us new chips which were only slightly better. The margaritas were excellent. I had enchiladas and they weren't hot (temperature) and there was so little sauce that the enchiladas were dry. Totally forgettable meal.

1. What’s that app? I couldn’t find it on the menu.

2. I agree—keep it spicy! As it should Be!

The appetizer is a Peruvian dish of potatoes topped with an Inka yellow pepper cheese sauce. Here is a link to their menu on facebook: Brisas Del Mar Menu (https://www.facebook.com/brisasladylake/photos/pb.592562327771233.-2207520000.1529261710./618779158482883/?type=3&theater)

We saw skinny people going in and fat people coming out. The place is JAMMED. Good for them, I wish them luck.

We just came from Angelo's in Tavares. BINGO! We have an Extreme Winner. Food, Service, Price, Perfecto.

The Mexican place is a winner also. I looked inside, very appealing. Going there Monday or Tuesday.

We went yesterday and it was crowded as we expected but we were seated as soon as we walked in. The place is just beautiful to say the least. There must have been a shortage of staff because it took about a hour to get our food. They did keep us in chips and salsa which was good. The food was good, but nothing exceptional. No draft beer yet and they were out of the popular brands. We do feel it is a very nice restaurant though and will be back.

This opening was announced on the Gourmet Club's Facebook page LINK (https://www.facebook.com/The-Villages-Gourmet-Club-241103526018764/), a few days ago. Their menu was on their regular website, long before they opened.

Let's hope Brisas stays around longer than all the others in that location.
