From personal experience I highly recommend Dr Ana Yeung at Davis Cancer Pavillion/U of Fl/Shands. An outstanding facility. There is always Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.

Agree with above. I had radiation in Cincinnati. Just listening to what people have to say here that if I had to waltz with the devil again I would go to Shands or Moffitt.
Sending good positive thoughts to you. Hoping all goes smoothly and well. Two survivors in our house.
Hugs.

We would highly recommend Dr. Rakesh Rohatgi ( Dr. Rakesh Rohatgi - The Villages FL, Hematology/Oncology (https://www.healthcare6.com/physician/the-villages-fl/rakesh-rohatgi-1766711.html)).
My husband had cancer and was recommended to Dr. Rohatgi for treatment. I have a friend who had her surgery at Mayo and they arranged her treatment locally with Dr. Rohatgi.
With all due respect to other people who have come through cancer, I do not believe there is any need to add travel to the treatment, you can get excellent treatment right here in TV. Make inquiries, ask your doctors, you do not have to do this alone.
As a caregiver to a cancer survivor I know this is a very frightening time for you and I wish for you the best results.

Sachin S. Kamath, MD...Certified Radiation Oncologist, Florida Cancer Specialists. 352-561-3290. He is located in The Sharon Morse Building on 441. Again, I will tell my Moffit story...directly from Dr. Kamath's mouth. At one time Moffit was in The Villages. It was a very short lived venture for them. When they left Florida Cancer Specialists took over their offices and bought out their equipment etc. Here's the really interesting part: Dr. Kamath, some other doctor's and most of the radiation nurses and ancillary staff in The Villages, specifically the radiation department, WERE Moffit employees. When Moffit moved out they chose to stay (they had families, kids in school and a life here) and accept employment with Florida Cancer Specialists...a very large practice also well known in Florida. I feel very fortunate to have them at my disposal through my journey...still in progress. In fact, I just recently had SBRT treatment, which is a very quick, pinpointed and focused treatment of only 5 sessions! This was my second time with this specialty radiation. No after effects...oh, except NO cancer! :) I would at least give him a shout to see if they can help you before you travel hours away for a treatment you may be able to receive right here. The last thing I would have wanted through my ordeal was traveling hours each day for treatment and subsequently dragging a caregiver along. I was happier here in my home, drove to and from myself (for both chemo and radiation) and I found all the staff at FCS very knowlegable , efficient and caring.
Dr. Kamath is in this video: Ocala Ground Breaking Social Media - Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EICzjLc5bD8&feature=youtu.be). Give it a watch....and best of luck with your treatments! PM me if you have an questions!
