I live in Pinellas and looking for decent take-out Chinese food. I tried the place in Pinellas Plaza a couple of times but don't care for it. Any recommendations for a place in the general area?
Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for East Coast Chinese take out then you probably would like Koyame, but it is a long way from Pinellas. It is in the Publix Mall complex almost opposite Lowes on 441.

I think that Chinese food preferences are like pizza preferences-very much a personal taste thing. We have tried Koyame a few times and it is, in our opinion, ok at best. It is definitely better than the fast food places at the various strip centers in The Villages (such as China Wok). We haven't found really good Chinese food here, but for us, the best of the lot has been Bamboo Bistro on 441 in Lady Lake.

Thanks for the input. Looks like next time when I'm up the northern end of TV, will give Koyame a try.

Agree that Koyame is the best of the Chinese food in TV, which is a lukewarm endorsement. They also have Thai dishes on their menu that we’ve also enjoyed.

Koyame has great Chinese food by Villages standards, good by most other standards. Their Thai dishes are awful. They should stick to Chinese.

Hands down, Cheng's in the strip mall in front of Walmart on 466.

Cheng’s is very good. Wonderful hot and sour soup.

Getting tired of hoofing it up to Koyame for Chinese and we’d rather have take out than dine in. Can anyone opine about China Gourmet VI ? It’s in Lake Deaton Plaza on 44.
Or the other China Gourmet’s ?

There may be one in the strip mall with NYPD Pizza.

There may be one in the strip mall with NYPD Pizza.I realized I can buy what I need on Amazon. It's probably the topic of a new thread. I make Chinese food but like most recipes it's a little off compared to the real McCoy and not worth the effort for most.

Soup doesn't make a Chinese Restaurant--vegetables, seafood, spices, texture, meat ,poultry , etc.
