A/C filters @ Lowes

Went to the new Lowes looking for a 19x20x4 A/C filter yesterday. There must be over 100 different filters on the shelves, but no 19x20x4 size in stock. Employees stated we have been trying to get those in stock since we opened, it is the most common size for all the newer homes in the villages! Must be a corporate thing...…….???

Ace Hardware, although somewhat expensive, will sell just about every replacement part needed in a Villages home. The nearest to the new Lowes is in Wildwood Shopping. It's on 301 east side between 466A and 44, it's the center that has a post office on the end.

I've been buying my filters from Amazon for the last few years. Here's what I buy, a 3 pack with free shipping for $50. Looks like they've gone up to $57.

They also carry them at the farm store across 44 from Flippers Pizza Shop, if you've never been there it's a pretty interesting place they have a lot of stuff you don't find in other stores. Check your furnace as my shows an even size and an actual size don't know why but either one will work.

The folks at Ace in Wildwood were very helpful regarding the 19x20x4 .. Lowes and HD were strikeouts .. Didnt check on Ace on 466 ..

That's Sparr Building and Supply. They have just two stores, one north of Ocala and the one here, so they are sort of a local guy. I hope Lowes and Rural King doesn't knock them out of business. They are convenient and have a lot of different things. We get our bird seed there, a 25 pound bag of safflower seed for $30. That's a good deal compared to the other stores and Lowes ran out in January and never restocked it. That's a seed that neither black birds or squirrels will touch, but the song birds love it.

I regularly park my golf cart at Grand Traverse Plaza and walk over to Sparr.

If you use SECO for power, get their discount card.

ACE Hardware has the filters. The brand name is Flanders. The 16 x 20 x 4 are $15, but the 19 x 20 x 4 are about $30.

I assume you have Carrier equipment. You can mail-order the OEM filters (perfect fit) for about $30 each. For this sort of thing, I avoid 3rd party providers.

Heard the same story at Lowes. I believe we bought from Home Depot last time, but live south of 466A. I also bought Flanders on Amazon, pack of 2, 19x20x4. Free shipping with Prime makes it too easy.

Both Lowes and Home Depot have a much, much larger selection online. I believe you can have shipped to store at no charge.

Here is something that I would like to add. I buy 4 1/4" filters rather than 4". It fits perfectly. Perhaps some units take the 4" and others take 4 1/4"?? I buy them on line because I only see 4" in the stores.
