Those of you that use potable water for irrigation (North) probably have a vacuum pressure breaker near your irrigation valves to prevent backflow. This is the valve that has the insulated pipes that come out of the ground and then back into the ground.

There are three of them in our neighborhood that froze during the night and were leaking badly.

If you find this to e the case, you can isolate the valve by shutting the two tee handled valves in the line. This will just isolate the irrigation system and will not affect the inside water supply. Rebuild kits are available if you want to repair these yourself or your irrigation guy can repair or replace this valve.

New valve $80-$100 not including installation---Repair kit about half that.

We had the same problem in Briar Meadow. Who would thought we had to worry about frozen pipes in Florida. Our valve was leaking a little; our neighbor's was leaking a lot.

I live in Summerhill and also have a slight leak in my vacuum pressure breaker. Where can I buy a repair kit?

I tested my system this morning and have very little water pressure on all zones. Is anyone else having this problem? I don't see any obvious leaks.

Is this the check valve you are talking about?

Florida Irrigation about a mile North of 42 on 441, West side of the road. You are probably not using your irrigation system anyhow, so just close the two tee handled valves which will stop the leak until it can be repaired. PM me for more info.

I ordered a repair kit from Florida Irrigation, cost will be about $50 for the kit. The manager said that they've had over 300 requests for the same kit, mostly from Villages people.
