Can see it now - a true-story movie depicting events of the Thai soccer boys and the rescue, like the Chilean miner rescue years back. I will definitely see this film when released in a couple years (no doubt).

Hopefully a very happy ending with the movie dedicated to all those heroes helping the effort - and esp the diver who gave his life a few days ago.

Fingers crossed that all continues well. This type of event tends to unify a country (for a time anyway) - perhaps something the USA could use...

The Chilean movie was OK. The 33 (2015) - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_33/)

The world is watching and I have already looked up what Junta means. Seems their government is in flux.

Glad to see that people are rising above politics and differences to help these kids.

As a card carrying mother I would like to ask that damn coach;

What were you thinkin'???????????????????????

Hey Clark Kent, lol, why are they where they are now? Did a ball go down a Sewer Grate? The real answer would be appreciated Old Buddy Old Pal!

Curiosity almost killed the soccer coach and his team. Thailand cave rescue: Soccer coach apologizes to parents (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2018/07/07/thailand-cave-rescue-mission-coach-apology-boys-letter/765199002/)

Now only one boy and the soccer coach are still in the cave along with 3 SEALS and a doctor. Hope these boys and coach have a speedy recovery.

Me too. It is interesting how the news is covered there as opposed to how a similar event is covered here. No pictures of the rescued kids and not much on their condition.

Last night I read that officials would not tell the waiting group of parents which children had been rescued until all children had been rescued. That doesn't make sense to me.

Like you and many of us Shaumberger, I have been practically holding my breath. Being stuck in the dark with water approaching is the worst nightmare of many.

I still would have many questions for that coach.

On the edge of my seat and fingers on both hands crossed, with white knuckles...that they get the last boy and coach out safely.

Will definitely go to THE MOVIE in 2 years based on these true events. Title could be "The Long Wait Out" - the true story of the Thai cave rescue of 2018.

Has all the elements of a hit exciting movie with a happy ending. Dedicate it to the diver who gave his life and the countless rescuers. And please Hollywood, make it a G or PG rated film - no need for XXX language, nudity, shootings, sex scenes, and all the other stuff they put into movies - don't ruin a great story, and allow the world youths to enjoy a close-up of a thrilling script...

Heard on radio morning news a bit ago - the big pumps had failed to continue operation shortly after the last of the rescue divers and doctor left the cave and came out. The areas were filling with more water and if they had waited longer for the dramatic rescue it could have been extremely more difficult to make it out.

And that the coach utilized meditation with the boys - initially in the damp darkness for 10 days - before contact. The coach trained as a Monk for several years as a young adult. This no doubt allowed the group to make it through... We would find it hard to simply stay in our home for 10 days and not go outside and be stircrazy...
