We built and will be closing on a new home in the Village of Bonita on Heath Springs Dr. on 1/20/2010. Finally........! I will be needing to get new Florida Drivers License (can this be done in The Villages) and get a mail box for our mail. I will be returning to Olympia Washington to pack up our home there, I know I'll be getting bills and things sent to the Florida address. Can I have these forwarded to Olympia until our move is complete this may take some time and several trips back and forth is there a time limit on forwarding mail? Also what do most people do for television hookup? I know COMCAST is there but I like Satellite? What restrictions are there? Is there a good reliabe company for lawn care (cutting and trimming) while we are in this transition phase? What about pest control, how often and who is recommened? I'm sure I got more questions but this will really help. Really looking forward to being full time resident soon.

WELCOME
yes you can forward mail for 6 months, if needed you can renew for another 6 months, drivers license office is in Wildwood, and I think there is another office on 27/441 just south of CR 466 1 mile or so, i have comcast and pay approx $100 for tv, phone and internet, many people have satellite they will chime in, we have used laguna lawn for many years 352.638.4347, also use bay area villages pest control 352.245.4522, this should get you off to a good start and good luck at the closing....gn

Welcome to Bonita.:welcome: I am a few streets over on Boiling Springs Ct. I went with Direct TV and have been pleased so far. I wanted more sports channels but I have Comcast internet and that has worked well. Good luck and welcome again.

I pay $19.95 special for 6 months and then I shop for another special. Paying more is like paying for AOL when it is free if you tell them you don't want to pay.

Your best bet on pricing is to go with the triple play (phone internet and TV) from either Comcast or CenturyLink. Comcast is all cable services, CenturyLink is DSL and DishNetwork. If you buy each seperately you will not get the promotional pricing.

For good info on TV go to the front screen "Talk of the Villages" and at the bottom of that screen is a topic "Nuts and Bolts of The Villages", look thru "Moving to the Villages"

Also the following website has many links to Villages related websites:

We moved to India Hook Terrace in Bonita a few months back and the main word of caution that I want you to know is this. Immediately after you move in you will be bombarded with solicitors calling on the phone and coming to your door. Various water treatment companies will be contacting you regarding the "terrible water quality" in The Villages and how you need their various products installed immediately.

Don't fall prey to any of this. Do a search in this site and talk to your neighbors to find the truth of things before you are parted from your money.

We have found the people here in Bonita to be very friendly and it is getting better each day with all the new people arriving.

Welcome

reh,

Welcome to Bonita and Heath Springs. There are several TOTV-ers on Heath Springs Drive. We absolutely love it here.

ZCaveman's nuts and bolts is a huge help. Regarding your license, there is a plaza in Wildwood about 10 minutes from HSD where you can get your license. Take 466A to Route 301 - it will be on your left - there is a Bealls there.
